‘Ola’ my friends

I recently spent two weeks in Portugal.

From now on, if I meet Portuguese people in Australia I’m going to ask them if they are lost or if they just really really like Vegemite.

Or if they thought they’d have a shot at Prime Minister because it appears everyone is having a go at it.

But after just two weeks exploring the country, I don’t know why anyone would leave Portugal.

I miss drinking Port every night.

And greeting everyone with “ola.”

How much better then our dull “hello” is that.

You start any day or conversation with “ola” and you feel like your on holidays every time and life’s a breeze and then you go and drink port and stroll through cobblestones streets.

Lucky bastards.
